{"id":1419,"date":"2012-08-16T16:55:06","date_gmt":"2012-08-16T16:55:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=1419"},"modified":"2012-08-16T16:55:06","modified_gmt":"2012-08-16T16:55:06","slug":"imo-poly-exam-time-table-is-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=1419","title":{"rendered":"Imo poly exam time table is out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/pollly.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1420\" title=\"pollly\" src=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/pollly.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/pollly.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/pollly-300x178.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some hard working students of Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo are putting in everything to pass their papers as the timetable for the examinations has been published.\u00a0 These students bleed their mental resources day and night for good grades.\u00a0 Others not so brilliant who rely on being assisted to scale through are busy perfecting their plans.\u00a0 It is either \u201cexpo\u201d nicknamed \u201cmicrochips\u201d or settlement of lecturers generally referred to as sorting in the academic circles.<\/p>\n<p>For the ladies in this category, settlement of the lecturers is complemented with the offer of their womanhood.<\/p>\n<p>Examination period is notorious for feigned sickness to attract sympathy and underserved marks from lecturers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Summer schools open following school break<\/p>\n<p>With the closure of primary and secondary schools in Imo state for the long term break, private summer schools or extra moral centres are once again bobbling as parents send their children to these centres, instead of them wasting their time at home.<\/p>\n<p>While many of such centres are run for profit motives, some of them are run by non profit organizations such as churches.\u00a0 The <em>Campus Gist<\/em> visited one of the non profit summer schools located at theEmmanuelCollegeSecondary school.\u00a0 While speaking to our reporter, the Head of the deeper life church run summer school, Pastor Raymond Nweke said the reason for the establishment of the summer school was because of the high failure rate of students in public examinations.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the church he is representing,DeeperLifeChurch, organised a test for students in Mathematics and English, but in Mathematics only one student passed the exam.\u00a0 He said this made the church to decide to organise the free summer school so as to help the students.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that seasoned experts in mathematics have been recruited to teach the students on the subject and expressed the hope that at the end of the summer school, the students will be better off.<\/p>\n<p>On the turnout of students, he said that the centre has witnessed a good turnout of students, with the number reaching 400.
