\nThe immediate return of Heartland Football Club back to the Nigeria Professional Football League after their relegation to NNL has attracted a clarion call on well meaning citizens of the state and beyond to join hands and keep the team afloat.
\nAccording to a release made available to Trumpeta sports desk by the club\u2019s media officer, Henry Echefu, a sports enthusiast and lover of the Imo state owned Football Club, Hon Kelechi Nwozuzu stated this during his official unveiling as VIP supporter of the Owerri landlords.
\nHon Nwosuzu said he has been a follower of Heartland Football Club right from its days as Spatans FC, Iwuanyanwu National and now Heartland noting that he felt bad that the pride of Imo, Heartland FC since its establishment went down on relegation, as the news was disheartening and so pathetic to all who loves the club.<\/p>\n

Hon Nwozuzu however expressed that he was happy and excited that the Club everyone thought had failed the people of Imo, particularly it’s die hard supporters could bounce back within one season, \u201cit is a great thing and the club made history in the Nigeria Professional Football League as no club has met such feet since the commencement of the NPFL,\u201d
\nHon Nwozuzu extolled the commitment of the president of the club Chief Goodfaith Etuemena, the management, the Technical crew, the players and the supporters, particularly the present administration in Imo under the table leadership of the peoples governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha for financing the team to return to the country’s top flight league.
\nThe Football enthusiast used the forum to appeal to well meaning Imo citizens, corporate organizations and other companies operating in Imo to as part of their cooperate social responsibility come to the club’s assistance as the state government cannot do it alone.
\nHe advised the time to ensure Heartland sustain the brand it is known for over the years is now and all hands must be on deck to take the Imo darling team to the envy of its contemporaries.
\nEarlier the leader of Heartland delegation to the unveiling ceremony Mr Cajetan Nkwopara the club’s secretary and Head of administration said the need to recognize Hon Nwozuzu as one of Heartland’s VIP supporter was because of his sincere concern and dear support towards the success of the club this trying period and assured him that the team will not disappoint Imo people as it embarks on the new season in the NPFL.
\nHeartland management was in their numbers with some of its Senior Management, like Mr Promise Nwachukwu the club’s Sporting Director who commended Hon Nwosuzu for the well deserved Honour showing that the entire team appreciates his support for the club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
