The opposition political parties in Imo state, under the banner of the Congress of Nigeria Political Parties, CNPP have shared the money \u201cdashed\u201d them by the Governor of the state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, when they visited the Governor at the Governors House, Owerri, on Tuesday August 28th<\/sup>, 28 2012.<\/p>\n

The huge amounts (sum with-held) was said to have been given the CNPP for the payment of its office rent, and for \u201ctransportation\u201d of members.<\/p>\n

However, for fear of the unknown, the CNPP could not collect to money that night, but returned early morning the next day for the loot.<\/p>\n

Immediately the money arrived, a select member headed toGovernmentSecondary School, alongOkigwe Road, Owerrri, for the sharing.<\/p>\n

Thinking that they were alone, within a few minutes of arriving the venue, other political party members who got a whiff of the money-sharing, stormedGovernmentSecondary schoolwithout invitation.<\/p>\n

After removing a said amount for the office rent, a head count of those present was taken, devoid of political party affiliations. In the end those present were given #100,000 each, while the remaining was kept back by those appointed on the spot to do the sharing. This followed a sharing formula called \u201cwho no de no de\u201d.<\/p>\n

But this development did not go down well with many of those present, who said the entire money must be shared.<\/p>\n

In the process of this disagreement, a scuffle ensued and fight broke out and everybody took to his and her heels, with the loots they got.<\/p>\n

However, when news of the sharing filtered into town, miscreants invaded the place claiming to be party members and demanded their own share of the \u201cNational cake\u201d.<\/p>\n

At this point, the leaders of CNPP ran and scaled the wall betweenGovernmentCollegeand Shell Camp police Station and disappeared.<\/p>\n

Till now, the money is still causing ripples among opposition political parties in the state Especially among the parties who did not attend the party for lack of information.<\/p>\n

However, the CNPP is divided into two factions, with one faction led by Dr. Mrs. Ada Mere, which did not attend the Okorocha parley and the other led by Hon. Ifeanyi Uba.<\/p>\n

Although, the ANPP, CPC, PDP and AD have denied taking place in the loot-sharing.<\/p>\n

While CPC and PDP said they were not invited, AD and ANPP said they were invited but shunned the invitation. Already, pundits have condemned CNPP for collecting money from an opposition party that is in power, describing it as a Greek gift, which will end up haunting the CNPP, in Imo State Chapter. Especially now Okorocha is packaging his second term programm<\/p>\n
