{"id":19517,"date":"2018-06-18T18:43:53","date_gmt":"2018-06-18T18:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=19517"},"modified":"2018-06-18T18:43:53","modified_gmt":"2018-06-18T18:43:53","slug":"organized-labour-to-imo-civil-servants-disregard-thank-you-rally-for-governor-%e2%80%a2as-perm-secs-threaten-non-compliant-exercise-shifted-to-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=19517","title":{"rendered":"Organized Labour To Imo Civil Servants  Disregard &#8220;Thank you &#8220;Rally For Governor,      \u2022As Perm Secs Threaten Non Compliant, Exercise Shifted to Thursday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?attachment_id=19524\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-19524\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19524\" src=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/NLC.jpg\" alt=\"NLC\" width=\"1205\" height=\"679\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/NLC.jpg 1205w, http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/NLC-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/NLC-768x433.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/NLC-1024x577.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1205px) 100vw, 1205px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>By Onyekachi Eze\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organized Labour in Imo State, comprising the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, has disassociated self from the purported &#8220;thank you&#8221; rally being planned for the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that <em>Trumpeta<\/em> had earlier last week reported of plot from government quarters to coerce\u00a0State Civil Servants into embarking on solidarity march on the\u00a0streets of Owerri in what is termed &#8220;a thank you rally&#8221; for the governor.<\/p>\n<p>Worried at the development, the\u00a0organized labour in a statement sent out through fliers\u00a0advised workers to disregard the &#8220;falsehood&#8221; that is spreading like fire, saying, the purported rally originally slated for today, Tuesday 19th June, 2018 but shifted for Thursday is not in the best interest of the workers.<\/p>\n<p>It further stated\u00a0that the program said to be organized by the Welfare Associations in the MDAs does not have the blessing of the workers&#8217; union.<\/p>\n<p>Further information gathered by this newspaper has it\u00a0on authoritative grounds that in respect to the said rally, the workers are getting threatening messages from the coordinators as circulated among the ministries, departments and agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The threat message indicates that those who fail to participate will be treated as deviants and will be dealt with administratively. They are likely going to have their salaries seized.
