Should the words of the committee set up by the Imo State Government to recover property of the State agents of the former administration are alleged to have kept in their custody despite leaving office since May 29, 2019 are taken serious, another stiffer measure may have to be adopted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Few days after inauguration and after it was reported that former Governor Rochas Okorocha and family allegedly took away several cars in their custody while in office, the new regime led by Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha set up a Recovery Committee led by Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After few weeks of operation without the governor and members of his family complying, the committee led by Ndubuaku has signaled plans to use force if the affected persons fail to comply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Task Force chairman disclosed that forceful approach had became necessary following the refusal of most of the culprits to willingly submit the properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ndubuaku, the task force would use the people aggrieved by the poor achievement of the past government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe would use the people to recover our property; by the time we move in with about 6,000 people, they wouldn\u2019t have the choice than to submit them\u201d, Ndubuaku said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking further, Ndubuaku alleged that Okorocha and wife, including some of their aides were not making their jobs easier as they continually held on to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs I speak, the governor has about 60 vehicles including the outriders he was using when he was in government intact; his wife has about seven vehicles; his driver has a land cruiser Jeep\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On what the committee has done so far, Ndubuaku disclosed that \u201cseven vehicles were found in the premises of the former ADC to Senator Okorocha but added that had been recovered so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cthe 27 vehicles bought for the council chairmen during Okorocha\u2019s tenure had been converted to school buses and missionary buses by those in whose care they formerly were; even the 27 tipper lorries and payloaders have all disappeared, if you go to the ministries, even the smallest generators cannot be found\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
