Women from Ideato North and South Local Government Areas of Imo State have shown solidarity to the State Commissioner for Gender and Vulnerable Groups, Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu.
The women drawn from Ideato Nation unanimously passed an implicit vote of confidence on the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the First Lady, Barr. Chioma Uzodinma, and the Commissioner, Lady Ugwu.
They expressed optimism that the State is in safe hands, hence the confidence vote.
The women made the assertions when they paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner, yesterday at the State Secretariat.
Earlier in her address, Deaconess Juli Ijeoma said they came on a solidarity visit, and to identify with one of their own, who God, through the governor elevated to the position of a Commissioner.
Mrs. Ijeoma stated that God lifted the Commissioner irrespective of all she passed through during the electioneering period, adding that her efforts were never neglected.
Reiterating their unalloyed support and confidence, the Commissioner was said to be an achiever.
“Come rain come shine, we are 100% in support. Anyone that fights you is fighting all of us”.
Deaconess Ijeoma while showering encomiums on the woman commissioner reminded her to carry them along both in the Civil Service and other government assisted empowerments.
In her speech, Hon. Mrs. Love Udensi who supported in the affirmative disclosed that Mrs. Ugwu is a good woman with kind heart.
She seized the opportunity in eulogizing the Imo first lady for her uniqueness, pointing out that as a worthy daughter of Ideato, she would make the State proud.
Mrs. Udensi applauded the good work of the governor.
Reacting, the President of Noble Ladies For Hope, Chief Mrs. Cheryl Amaonu extended gratitude to the governor for appointing the commissioner.
She attributed her as an astute scholar, a cerebral, silent achiever and role model.
Giving a run down of the government’s achievements, Amaonu gave Uzodinma a kudos for being gender friendly with his appointments.
In her closing remark, Hon. Mrs. Ann Nwokeji said in the history of Imo State, Ideato has always been visible, as can be seen in the present government.
She disclosed of preparations to give the commissioner a resounding welcome party, maintaining that APC has come to stay in Imo.
Responding, the Hon Commissioner For Gender and Vulnerable Groups, Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu expressed delight for their sisterly visit.
In her words, she averred, “I am a Commissioner by God’s grace. I will not relent in doing what I should do for the progress of our dear State and Ideato Nation”.
The Commissioner however called on them to be supportive of the government and pray that it thrives in all its policies and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
