President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday swore in seven new Ministers who have been screened and confirmed by the Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The swearing-in at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) was done in two batches of four and three each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first set was Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh \u2013 Abia State, Umana Okon Umana \u2013 Akwa Ibom State, Odum Odih \u2013 Rivers State, and Ademola Adewole Adegoroye \u2013 Ondo State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second batch included Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub \u2013 Kano State, Goodluck Nnana Opiah \u2013 Imo State, and Egwumakama Joseph Nkama \u2013 Ebonyi State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
11 ministerial positions are affected by the reshuffle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Below is the list of the ministers\u2019 new portfolios:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Adeleke Mamora \u2013 Minister of Science and Technology (formerly Minister of State, Health)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Mu\u2019azu Jaji Sambo \u2013 Minister of Transportation (formerly Minister of Power)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Umanna Okon Umanna \u2013 Minister of Niger Delta<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. Sharon Ikeazor \u2013 Minister of State, Niger Delta (formerly Minister of State, Environment)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. Gbemisola Saraki \u2013 Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development (formerly minister of state, Transportation)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. Umar Ibrahim EI-Yakub \u2013 Minister of State, Works and Housing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. Goodluck Nanah Opiah \u2013 Minister of State, Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8. Ekumankama Joseph Nkama \u2013 Minister of State, Health<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9. Ikoh Henry Ikechukwu \u2013 Minister of State, Science and Technology<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10. Odum Udi \u2013 Minister of State, Environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n
11. Ademola Adewole Adegoroye \u2013 Minister of State, Transportation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before the swearing-in, a minute\u2019s silence was observed in honour of Mohammed Barkindo, the 4th Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Secretary-General, who died at the age of 63 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last Tuesday, the Senate eventually received the list of seven nominees from Buhari for consideration and confirmation as Ministers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will replace Ministers who resigned in May 2022 to pursue their political ambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new Ministers will now join the Buhari administration which has less than one year left in office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
