{"id":3804,"date":"2012-12-12T16:43:44","date_gmt":"2012-12-12T16:43:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=3804"},"modified":"2012-12-12T16:43:44","modified_gmt":"2012-12-12T16:43:44","slug":"eko-2012-fall-out-ugbe-says-calabar-2014-will-be-world-class","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=3804","title":{"rendered":"\u201cEko 2012\u201d Fall out:  Ugbe Says Calabar 2014 will be world class."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/victors.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3805\" title=\"victors\" src=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/victors.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"356\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/victors.jpg 599w, http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/victors-300x178.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The cross River state Youth and sports commissioner, Mr. Patrick Ugbe, has stated that the Games of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> National sports festival (NSF), Calabar 2014 will be world class.<\/p>\n<p>Ugbe, who stated this during the closing ceremony of the 18<sup>th<\/sup> edition \u201cEko2012\u201d games at the Teslim Balogun stadium commended Lagos state for putting up a memorable event especially the opening and the closing ceremonies.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that, he was around all through in Lagos along side some prominent cross River state sports professionals to observe and understudy the general organization of the Eko 2012 games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must confess to you that, the spectacular show put up by Lagos as host of the 18<sup>th<\/sup> National sports festival is putting us under serious pressure, but one thing I am sure of ids that, calabar is the place to be in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ceremonial aspect of the calabar 201`4 won\u2019t be a big issue considering our pedigree in entertainment as our annual calabar Christmas carnival will put us in the stead to give Nigerians the best in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games.<\/p>\n<p>Ugbe commended his athletes for finishing 8<sup>th<\/sup> on the overall medal table with 12 goals, 14 silver and 49 bronze medals.<\/p>\n<p>Delta state won the festival with 114 gold, 99 silver and 75 bronze medals while host Lagos came 3<sup>rd<\/sup> behind 2011 host, Rivers state with a combined total of 399 medals.<\/p>\n<p>Past winners and hosts of (NSF):<\/p>\n<p>1973: Lagos hosted \u2013 mid-west state won<\/p>\n<p>1975:\u00a0 \u00a0\u201c\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u201c \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;
