{"id":4101,"date":"2013-01-17T12:45:33","date_gmt":"2013-01-17T12:45:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=4101"},"modified":"2013-01-17T12:45:33","modified_gmt":"2013-01-17T12:45:33","slug":"no-efcc-arrest-for-me-ohakim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=4101","title":{"rendered":"No EFCC Arrest For Me \u2013 Ohakim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/ohakim.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4102\" title=\"ohakim\" src=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/ohakim.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"356\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/ohakim.jpg 599w, http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/ohakim-300x178.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to a report by an Owerri based Newspaper publication yesterday which claimed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has summoned the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, it has been discovered that Ohakim was neither summoned nor arrested by the Agency.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <em>Imo Trumpeta<\/em> on phone from hisAbuja base, Ohakim said he was embarrassed with the said publication, which seemed to have painted him in bad light as there was no iota of truth in the said report, adding that it was the figment of the writer(s) imagination.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ohakim who spoke to this Newspaper exactly at 12.30 pm yesterday, said he was speaking from his office at Asokoro,Abuja, and wondered from where the Owerri based Newspaper got its information to state he was being summoned by the anti-graft body.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was not arrested nor invited by EFCC. I learnt <em>Announcer Express<\/em> wrote that I was arrested. Where did they get their information?\u201d Ohakim queried.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The former Governor wondered what EFCC wants him for, asking if he did anything that warrants EFCC invitation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat did I do that EFCC would arrest me? If EFCC invites me, I will go. In fact, since I left office, the Agency had invited me once or twice to come and give information when needed. It was a routine affair, but I was at all times left to go home.
