\u00a0It was a bloody post festivities period for Orogwe Community in Owerri West as unknown gunmen invaded the helpless community last week and attacked vigilante personnel of the Community during which a\u00a0personnel, Mr Kingsley Nwanedo, in his late thirties was gunned down.<\/p>\n
\u00a0An eye witness, who pleaded anonymity, told\u00a0Trumpeta<\/i>\u00a0that the incident took place\u00a0 last Tuesday between 9-9.30pm<\/p>\n
\u00a0He said the assassins, about four, armed to the teeth had arrived at market Square in the Community and stationed themselves angrily asking severally\u00a0 “wee those boys wen dey disturb us”.<\/p>\n
Our narrator said initially people around never understood what they were saying until one of the vigilante personnel strolled by.<\/p>\n
According to him, as soon as they cited the personnel,\u00a0they went for him shouting \u201cdrop that gun, drop that gun”. The gallant security personnel in an attempt to safe himself and his weapon took to his heels.<\/p>\n
They went after him, shot him at the arm, he fell and they caught up with him, emptied some bullets into him and left with his rifle.<\/p>\n
\u00a0It would be recalled that a similar incident had taken place in the community last month when UGM operating in car stormed the market square, shot a meat dealer and zoomed off.<\/p>\n
Presently, inhabitants of the community now sleep with one eye open for fear of the unknown just as fear has taken possession of the vigilante personnel in the community.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Orogwe Community Development Union officials have paid a condolence visit to the family of late Kingsley Nwanedo(Oil Minister) who will be buried tomorrow(Wednesday)<\/p>\n
Reactions have trailed the incidents during which calls have been made to the Police authority to\u00a0come to the rescue of the community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
