{"id":50589,"date":"2026-09-14T21:18:41","date_gmt":"2026-09-14T21:18:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=50589"},"modified":"2026-09-14T21:18:41","modified_gmt":"2026-09-14T21:18:41","slug":"bishop-egbu-anglican-communion-laments-insecurity-in-futo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=50589","title":{"rendered":"Bishop Egbu Anglican Communion Laments Insecurity in FUTO\u00a0  .\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Bishop Egbu Anglican Communion Laments Insecurity in FUTO<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?attachment_id=25560\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-25560\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25560\" src=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/futo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/futo.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/futo-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Egbu Right Reverend Geoffrey Enyinnaya Okorafor has urged for enhanced security within the Federal University of Technology (FUTO)host communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Bishop Okorafor who gave the advise during a Eucharistic service of confirmation, admission and induction for St. John&#8217;s Parish<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ihiagwa, Owerri West LGA,Imo State said the insecurity in the areas was becoming very alarming with kidnapping of students stressing the need for a review of the security architecture for the safety of the students and their lecturers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">He encouraged traditional rulers in the affected communities to raise security guards that would liaise with FUTO to beef up security in the visinity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Bishop Okorafor also adviced the Church to sustain the weeding of the resting place of the Church triumphants.He explained that though they were no more their resting places ought to be well kept.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Bishop noted that Cemeteries in the western world were usually decorated with flowers and beautiful ornaments that were constantly maintained and wondered why people in our clime cannot follow suit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">He felt disgusted but not surprised that the congregation came very late, describing lateness a decease that has become indelible in the life of the average Anglican and appeal to them to cultivate the spirit of coming early to Church.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In his homily Chaplain to the Bishop, Rev Benjamin Ugorji encouraged Christians to practice sincere love without pretences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Taking his text from Rom. 12 Vs 9 the Cleric said Christians were to let love be without hypocrisy,abhorimg what was evil and cling to what was good, stressing that without love they were like empty vessel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Rev Ugorji cited the life of the Apostles of old whose love was without limitations and the church witnessed magnificent growth, sharing their challenges and burdens in common. He also urged Christians to extend arms of love to the less privilege and poor in the society noting that carrying one another&#8217;s burden goes a long way to exhibiting the sincerity of their love.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The man of God also reminded each believers of their different gifts intended to edify and build up the church of Christ and urged for an honest evaluation of their spiritual gifts. He advised them to avoid false examination of themselves aswellas over rating of themselves , a common practice he said is prevailent in today&#8217;s
