The native dance popularly known as Etighi has gained grounds in every club, concert and any other social gathering, and it is gradually sending into extinction the popular \u201cAlanta Dance\u201d which is originated from Lagosstate. Etigi as the Calabarians calls it, was publicly showcased during the Calabar Festival, and many Nigerians who cherished and admired the dance step took it home to their various states as the festival was attended by people from different parts of Nigeria. The dance which involves mostly the moving of both legs and the waist up and down as though the dancer in having a major waist or leg injury is surprisingly the most cherished and invoke for all dancers around the campuses.\u00a0 When music is played, the dancer gradually bends down to one side of the body, slowly lifts the left or right leg as the case may be, alongside the waist and surprisingly, the dance is already in serious motion. Songs like \u201cOliver Twist\u201d by D\u2019banj and \u201cAll my ladies\u201d from Iyanya are not helping matters at all as they are the two hottest songs that suit this popular dance called <em>Etigi<\/em>.
