Workers of Owerri North Local Government have threatened to down tools following the inability of the state government to pay them their part of arrears since last year.<\/p>\n
Tension and anxiety took over Owerri North Council headquarters as workers discussed the development in groups and hushed tones.<\/p>\n
The leadership of National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, had met with the local government Sole Administrator, SOLAD where they expressed their disgust over the non-payment of their entitlements.<\/p>\n
Fingers were pointed at the SOLAD who acted during that era including the Treasurer and Director of Administration and Services, DAGs.<\/p>\n
After meeting with the SOLAD, the workers assembled where the NULGE leadership informed the workers of the next line of action which involves strike action.<\/p>\n
