Nigeria move up in FIFA Rankings
\nAfrican champions Nigeria have moved up three places to 33 in the latest world rankings released Thursday by FIFA.
\nHowever, Nigeria despite the move are still no 4 in the Africa ranking behind Algeria(3rd) who dropped three places, Ghana (2nd), who moved up one place and Cote d’Ivoire (1st), who have moved up on a place to 17th in the world.
\nThe October ranking saw the Eagles garner 724 points which is an improvement from the 707 points of the September rankings.
\n They are expected to improve their rankings by next month when they host Ethiopia in a World Cup playoff return leg in Calabar.
\nThe super Eagles did themselves good with the 2 1 victory they recorded against the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia last weekend as a draw or lose would have seen them drop down on the Fifa ranking.
\nIt is however believed that the Fifa Coca Cola ranking will be used to seed teams during the world cup fixtures in Brazil 2014.
\n Spain remain No 1 in the world with Argentina, Germany, Italy, Colombia, Belgium, Uruguay, Brazil, Netherlands and Croatia completing the top 10 in the world

African China, Nigga Raw, others storm
\nNgor Okpala for Jude Okere’s Champions League<\/p>\n

This year’s Ngorokpala annual Football Champions League will today commence with a musical concert to give the players and the good people of Ngorokpala a well-deserved musical pleasure as African China and Nigger Raw storms the venue with a host of other artists.
\nReports reaching Trumpeta Sports desk indicates that the musical concert will hold today as the donor Hon John Jude Okere an illustrious son of Ngoropkala wants his people to be in festive mood before the competition kicks-off properly on Sunday October 20 at Ngorokpala high School, Umuneke.
\nAccording to the Local Organizing Committee chairman, Mr Adikwuru Tochukwu, 20 teams from the 20 Autonomous Communities will take part in this year’s competition that will be played in five designated centers, Okpala Secondary School Field and the Central School fields in Umundoche, Umuohiagu, Ntu and Nguru simultaneously.
\nTochukwu further revealed that in his usual manner of spicing up the competition among the teams, Hon Okere has mapped out a huge amount as prize money for the first, second and third place winners. Winner of the Giant Trophy will in addition take home the sum of N500, 000 while the 2nd and 3rd placed teams will also go home with N120, 000 and N70, 000 respectively.
\nHe however stated that there will also be individual prizes for the most valuable player, best goalkeeper, defender as well as most disciplined team (Fair play team).
\nThe competition is an annual event organized by Hon Okere to help empower the youths of Ngorokpala LGA and also help to fish out talents that will one day become stars in the future as well as help curb social vices and youth restiveness in our Society.
\nThe tournament started in 2011 with Imerienwe Autonomous Community winning the maiden edition while Eziama won the last edition in 2012 and hopes to defend their trophy this year when the final will be played by December 15.<\/p>\n
