\nNo fewer than 5,000 youths from the 10 political wards in Oru-East Council area of Imo State last Sunday 20th October, 2013 declared for All Progressive Congress (APC).
\nThe youths chanted solidarity songs at a stakeholders meeting held at Barr Bill Nwakamma’s country home in Umuduru-Amiri community.
\nSpeaking with Journalists, the Sole Administrator of Oru-East Council area, Hon Donatus h Ejifugha, who is also the Director General of Imo Civil Guards expressed happiness over the turn-out for the meeting, adding that the APC is intact in Oru-East.
\n\u201cToday, it is obvious that all concerned youths men and women have come together to declare support for APC. This shows the amount of love my people have for me and our dear Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha\u201d he lamented.
\nHon. Ejifugha thanked the National officer of APC, Chief Romanus Egbuladike who hails from Oru-East LGA for bringing together all the political big wings in the area in order to brainstorm on the steps to achieve a common political interest in the area.
\nHe further enjoined the aggrieved persons to sheath their swords and tender their grievances in order to move Oru-East to a greater heights.
\nThe convener of the meeting and the National Officer of APC, Chief Romanus Egbuladike described the meeting as a key step to lay down a formidable structure for APC in Oru-East that would lead to its victory in future elections.
\nChief Egbuladike noted that APC has no factions in Oru-East LGA, pointing out that an Inter-Party Relations Committee will be soon be constituted to oversee affairs of the youths in Oru-East. He therefore enumerated the importance of the meeting, adding that the turn-out shows that there is no opposition in the area.
\nBarr Nwakamma described the gesture as the step to harmonize issues that would lead to social justice and good governance, pointed out that APC has a national out look and agent of change aimed at enhancing good governance in Nigeria.
\nThe meeting attracted who is who in the area including the former member for Oru-East in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Nnanna Onyenekwu, Hon Robert Okwuego, the former commissioner of police, Ogun State, Nicholas Nkemdiri, Dr Emma Ogbenta, Engr. Chime Nzeribe, Oru-East APC women leader, Lady Chinwe Okoro, the former member representing Oru-East, Orsu and Orlu federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives Hon Cajetan Dike among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
