{"id":9451,"date":"2013-10-24T19:09:53","date_gmt":"2013-10-24T19:09:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=9451"},"modified":"2013-10-24T19:09:53","modified_gmt":"2013-10-24T19:09:53","slug":"pdp-accuses-okorocha-of-extorting-n-5m-from-traditional-rulers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=9451","title":{"rendered":"PDP Accuses Okorocha  Of Extorting N.5m  From Traditional Rulers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/pdp-apc.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/pdp-apc.jpg\" alt=\"pdp apc\" width=\"599\" height=\"356\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9453\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/pdp-apc.jpg 599w, http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/pdp-apc-300x178.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nImo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has accused Imo State Government of extorting the whooping sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,0000.00) from newly elected traditional rulers waiting to be given staff of office.<br \/>\nIn a statement in Owerri signed by the state publicity secretary of the party Chief Blyden Amajirionwu, PDP said that this extortionist tendency of the Okorocha administration is becoming embarrassing to the generality of Imo public.<br \/>\nThe party further said that they are aware of plans by the Governor to abort the planned conferment of chieftaincy title on one of its members Chief Jerry Chukwueke by traditional rulers of the state.<br \/>\nAware of the likely consequences of such distractions, PDP said, \u201cThe State PDP will therefore hold the Rochas Okorocha&#8217;s administration responsible for any breakdown of law and order and also any reaction that will follow this repressive move by his administration\u201d.<br \/>\nAccording to the statement, Governor Okorocha is said to have perfected plans to suspend  thirty six traditional rulers should they go ahead to crown Chief Chukwueke with the title.<br \/>\nPDP therefore maintained, \u201cWe encourage our revered Royal fathers from Owerri Federal Constituency never to be intimidated by this over- bearing attitude of the Rochas administration\u201d.<br \/>\n\u201cAs men of honour and high integrity, you should be bold to do what you are committed to do which in the eyes of everyone is right. Ndi Imo will like to witness 36 of you dethroned because you discharged a just traditional obligation.
