The immediate past Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim has described the return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP by Senator Ifeanyi Araraume as an indication that the party in Okigwe zone is operating on one page and therefore intact as the 2015 elections approach.
\nOhakim made this declaration while welcoming members of PDP Okigwe zone chapter to his palatial home, at Okohia, Isiala Mbano LGA last Saturday. Ohakim also announced the return of Chief Cosmos Iwu, former SSG, back to the PDP fold.
\nThe gathering witnessed a mammoth crowd of PDP followers in Okigwe zone who trooped to the meeting, after which the party unanimously endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan to run again for President in 2015 and continue the good work he has been doing, pointing out that the President has surprised his detractors with his giant strides.
\nMoving the motion to endorse Jonathan come 2015 Presidential election, Chief (Bar) Chris Okwulonu said that following Jonathan’s achievements, the proper thing to do is to ask him to continue in office.
\nAlso speaking, the National Working Committee member of the PDP Bar Vincent Okpaleke maintained that no amount of harassment can scare President Jonathan from seeking a fresh mandate from Nigerians in 2015, since one good outing deserves another.
\nPutting the endorsement of Jonathan for 2015 to a voice vote, the member representing Isiala Mbano in the Imo House of Assembly, Hon Simon Iwunze asked \u201cThose who supports that our President, Dr Ebele Jonathan should continue in office in 2015 should say aye!\u201d
\nIn the end the \u201caye\u201d had it as not a whimper of \u201cno\u201d was heard from the mammoth crowd.
\nIn his closing remark, the Chief host, Chief Ikedi Ohakim urged all members of Okigwe PDP Chapter to use the New Year to forgive one another, as he has also forgiven all those who offended him. Present at the meeting include, Chief Dominic Uzowuru, (Okigwe PDP Zonal Chairman) Arch. Uche Anyanwu, Hon Robertson Ekwebelm, Hon Simeon Iwunze, Hon Kingsley Dimaku, Hon Jonas Okeke Rt Hon Maxwell Duru, Chief Longers Anyanwu, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri, Lady Love Ineh, Chief Regis Uwakwe, Chief (Bar) Vincent Okpaleke, Dr Kelechi Okpaleke, Chief Sunday Obi, Chief Charles Ekwegh, Chief Chris Onuoha, Chief Charles Ezekwem, Chief Paul Ogujiofor, Chief Chris Okewulonu, Prof Chudi Uwazuruike, Chief Sam Osuji.
