\nThe members of the Imo State House of Assembly who went to court to stop any attempt by the governor, Owelle Rocha Okorocha and leadership of the House from removing them from office over alleged resignation endorsed by them and apposed to the speaker and governor early last year may have relaxed their court action.
\nIt would be recalled that about five members namely Eudora Igwe (Ideato North) Francis Ndunagu (Mbaitoli) Victor Mere (Owerri Municipal) Innocent Eke (Owerri West) Chino Obioha (Njaba) and Dan Ikpeazu (Owerri North) reportedly approached the court to protest against their removal on the premise that they had signed for resignation.
\nAt a peace meeting organized by the speaker at his private lodge in Owerri, the aggrieved lawmaker were requested to withdraw the case as no sanction would be placed against them for going to court.
\nTrumpeta reliably gathered that the resolution for no victor, no vanquished entails that the concerned APGA members not willing to join APC soften on their hard stance while no suspension or sanction will be meted to them money was also advanced to calm them.
\nMeanwhile, there was mild drama on Tuesday at the chamber of the House when pronouncements by the speaker Ben Uwajumogu sparked off a row among the lawmakers. Uwajumogu on adjournment announced meeting of APC lawmakers at a designated office. Hardly did the speaker finish his information when the Minority Leader of the opposing PDP, Mrs Ngozi Pat Ekeji sprang up and challenged the Speaker for mentioning APC on the floor of the House when there is no official person representing APC in the House. Mrs Pat Ekeji reminded the Speaker that only APGA, PDP and ACN have members and there is nothing like APC in Imo House.
\nThe views of the Minority Leader was backed by Hon Sam Daddy Anyanwu who also frowned at the speaker’s pronouncement before PDP members resolved to have a caucus meeting at the Minority Leader’s office while the supposed APC members met at a separate office.
\nOur correspondent learnt that following the development in the state Assembly, PDP Lawmakers jetted to Abuja yesterday for a private discussion with President Jonathan in Abuja.
