\nThe lobby for position have landed so many workers in Imo into serious trouble as some who are alleged to be the masterminders and executors are regretting their action.
\nWhile some are begging forgiveness others are on the run.
\nThe story has it that the senior staff members in the State Local Government Civil Service Commission have engaged themselves in serious power tussle to climb higher.
\nThe position like Internal Auditor, Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS) and other management positions are now for the highest bidder. It is now a question of using what you have to get what you want money, and everything are now been displayed by desperate workers just to get position at the commission.
\nEven those who are at the point of their retirement are lobbying for position and elongation with big sum of money as information revealed that the struggle for power and position has brought cold war into the system and is now causing decline in of productivity and sex scandals.
\nTrumpeta learnt that those who are due for retirement are even struggling for position more than those who still have more years to go. Moreover the old staff are more concerned on who will take over from them to protect their interest.
\nWe also gathered that the money bags have been either positioned as \u201cacting or assistants\u201d to the out going staff to the detriment of their seniors which is a negation to the ethics of the civil service.
\nThe chairman of the commission Chief Mathew Nwogu in a swift reaction declared all the allegation as false and bogus pointing out that nobody paid a dime to any person for promotion.
\nHe threatened to deal with any of his staff who engages in any shaddy deal at the commission.
\nHe however, revealed that Imo Government has guidelines for any promotion and such guidelines according to him should be respected to avoid trouble. He cited example with what happened at some local governments where people were promoted above their superiors based on certain reasons best known to the state government.
\nThe chairman maintained that the commission cannot can not for any reason can step down to another level to pick some one to occupy a particular position.
\nMeanwhile concerned citizens of the state who spoke to our Trumpeta on this issue have appealed to state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha to do something fast to remedy the situation of things at the commission before it gets out of hand.
