The ambitions of some governorship aspirants as well as their co-travellers running for other positions for 2015, who kicked against the present list of delegates being used for PDP primaries may be a mirage.
\nReason is that following their alleged tactical maneuovers to stop the present list from being adopted as the authentic delegates list of the state, Trumpeta learnt that the aspirants are facing rejection from the delegates.
\nAmong those said to be suffering from the backlash of the delegates are Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Senator Christy Anyanwu, Rt Hon Bethel Amadi, Chief Mike Ahamba, SAN, Sen Bright Nwanne, Prof Jude Njoku, Lady Clara Njoku, Barr Charles Onyeagbako, Dr Charles Amanze and categories of aspirants suffering some fate.
\nFollowing the conduct of the Nov 1, 2014 ward congresses which produced the three-man adhoc delegates per ward, a group of aspirants including the aforementioned began protesting measures to stop the list.
\nApart from petitioning the party leadership at all quarters and Mr President under the banner of coalition of Governorship\/other stakeholders of PDP, Imo state over the conduct, another group, coalition of Owerri zone Governorship Aspirants of PDP Imo state undertook media campaigns and letters to Abuja to continue the delegates protest.
\nIn their determined zeal to stop the Delegates, few of them were instrumental to a quashed court case before justice LC Azuama of Orlu Judicial Division asking that the PDP, Adamu Muazu, and INEC be restrained form using any result produced by the present delegates except that authenticated by the state organizing secretary. But the court a day to Nov 29 primaries rejected the motion thereby formalizing the position of the delegates.
\nTrumpeta learnt that majority of the delegates have turned their backs on those who opposed their emergence in several forms.
\nAs delegates become beautiful brides of the PDP at the moment, those who maintained anti-delegates posture are facing rejection and may not likely get their votes during the governorship and National Assembly primaries.
\nTo curry the favour of the aspirants this newspaper learnt that the affected aspirants are not only hiding their faces in shame while attempting to meet the delegates but have also devised a means to woo them.
\nPart of the subterranean moves is issuance of congratulatory letters by the aggrieved aspirants. Some of the delegates who spoke to Trumpeta expressed surprise that they as rejected stone have become the cornerstone.
