{"id":1493,"date":"2012-08-20T15:34:51","date_gmt":"2012-08-20T15:34:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=1493"},"modified":"2012-08-20T15:34:51","modified_gmt":"2012-08-20T15:34:51","slug":"okorocha-approves-n320-million-intervention-fund-for-primary-and-secondary-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=1493","title":{"rendered":"OKOROCHA APPROVES N320 MILLION INTERVENTION FUND FOR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong><\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha has approved the sum<br \/>\nof N320 million Naira intervention fund for all primary and secondary<br \/>\nschools in the state.<br \/>\nGovernor Okorocha, who disclosed this after a one-day workshop with<br \/>\nhead teachers, principals and other stakeholders in the education<br \/>\nsector, said the fund is meant to enable the newly established<br \/>\nmanagement teams of various schools to embark on maintenance projects<br \/>\nahead of resumption of schools.<br \/>\nHe explained that each primary and secondary school in the state will<br \/>\nget N200, 000 as part of the measures towards implementing school<br \/>\nautonomy in the state.<br \/>\nGovernor Okorocha, who lamented on the infrastructural decay in public<br \/>\nschools, disclosed that his administration will under the free<br \/>\neducation programme establish management teams that will oversee the<br \/>\naffairs of the schools towards addressing the bureaucratic bottle-neck<br \/>\nthat has contributed to the collapse of infrastructure in the public<br \/>\nschools.<br \/>\nHe challenged the head teachers and principals to embrace the<br \/>\nchallenges occasioned by the renewed commitment of the state<br \/>\ngovernment to promote a quality free and compulsory education in Imo<br \/>\nState.<br \/>\nGovernor Okorocha added that about 80 containers loaded with school<br \/>\nmaterials including sandals, books, desks and uniforms have arrived<br \/>\nthe state which will be distributed freely to pupils and students as<br \/>\npart of the free education programme of his administration.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>In a recent development, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has described<br \/>\nphysical exercise as a panacea for a healthy living.<br \/>\nThe governor stated this at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri during his Walk<br \/>\nfor Life Exercise over the weekend.<br \/>\nGovernor Okorocha posited that exercise is of the spiritual and<br \/>\nphysical which he maintained is important to human existence adding<br \/>\nthat when both are carried out, the entire body system will be<br \/>\nproperly serviced.<br \/>\nHe advised Imolites to embark on walk-out on weekly basis to avert<br \/>\navoidable sickness and to make sure that the blood circulates well in<br \/>\nthe system for a healthy and longer living.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
