<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\nHeartland Football club of Owerri is set to abolish the contractual monetary agreement with players tagged \u201csigning \u2013 on fees\u201d from the next season.<\/p>\n
The team for the large part of the season suffered a riotous time from the players basically on the signing \u2013 on fees for the outgoing 2011\/12 Nigerian Premier League season.<\/p>\n
Only 20% of the agreed signing \u2013 on fees were paid to the players up on till the time they played Lobi stars in the final of the federation cup which they won, although, before their departure, 40% of the remaining amounts were approved for payment.<\/p>\n
The General Manager of the Naze Millionaires, Fan Ndubuoke in Channels Television Sports programme on Monday said part of the proposed changes expected in the team for the next season will address among other things the maligned signing \u2013 on fees.<\/p>\n
It would be recalled that the players of Heartland on several occasions embarked on strike actions to press home the demand for their remaining signing \u2013 on fees.<\/p>\n
Fan explained that it makes no sense promising players sign \u2013 on fees of 10 million naira and year to year they don\u2019t get it. He continued by saying that the management are looking for ways of unlocking the logjam.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the government has concluded arrangements to officially welcome the All- conquering team in the government house today.<\/p>\n
According to the state sports commissioner, parade will go round the Owerri city and end at the government house were the Governor, Chief Owelle Rochas Okorocha will welcome and appreciate the team.<\/p>\n
