Civil Servants in Imo state have vehemently kicked against the directive by the Owelle Rochas Okorocha government ordering them to come to work wearing a particular uniform.<\/p>\n

The Civil Servants objected to the order, saying it is against the tenets of democracy to instruct adults on what colour or cloth to appear in office as if they are pupils in primary schools.<\/p>\n

It would be recalled that Imo state government had instructed all Civil servants in Imo to wear black suits, blue shirts and red ties to work, while their senior colleagues should appear in black suits, white shirts and red ties.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Weekend Trumpeta<\/em>, a civil servant Mr Chima Okoro said that they are not school pupils to be ordered to wear uniform to work. He said that it would sound more civilized and mature if the government had directed them to appear in office well \u2013 dressed, than ordering them on what to put on. He lamented that even Bank workers don\u2019t put on same type of cloth to work.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For Mrs. Chinasa Elomu hinted that much as the wearing of suits would make Imo civil servants look good and presentable, but she wondered how one would wear suit in a dry and hot weather in non \u2013 air conditioned office.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mr. Johnson Ogazi told Imo Trumpeta<\/em> that he has no problem with the directive, provided government would add wardrobe allowances to their salaries, and pay them as at when due.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But Mr. Samuel Amadi sees nothing wrong in the exercise, pointing out that it makes the civil servants look neat in appearance, but was worried that the situation has raised the price of black suits in the state, why shylock Tailors take a pound of flesh on the poor civil servants.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n However, the Head of Service Mr. Evans Uzokwe said that it was a good development, and urged Imo civil servants to comply with the directive, as it has boasted their public perception and appearance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Civil Servants in Imo state have vehemently kicked against the directive by the Owelle Rochas<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-223","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-frontpage"],"yoast_head":"\n
