as they are fondly called have over the years won lots of laurels in sporting events for the nation in addition to the maintenance of law and other.<\/p>\n<p>The exploits of Sunday Bada in many Athletic world events, Chioma Ajunwa at the Atlanta \u201996 Olympics, Julius Aghahowa in football for the Nigerian U \u2013 20 team and Supper Eagles as well as many other police men and women have always brought so much joy and pride to the nation.<\/p>\n<p>But one can not boast of such memorable and historic achievements especially now that the nation has plunged seriously in our recent sporting events.<\/p>\n<p>However, a restoration mission is presently taking place in the sports section of the Nigerian Police force, Imo state command.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <em>Imo Trumpeta<\/em> on Saturday during a fitness exercise that is organized by the state police command, Assistant commissioner of police Mr Felix Kigha, the Area Commander in Owerri explained that apart from the passion he has for sports, the programme going on at the Dan Anyiam stadium is in line with the directives of the present Inspector General of Police Mr Mohammed Abubarka who is also a sports man, to revive the Nigerian police sports.<\/p>\n<p>ACP Kigha, a CAF\/FIFA instructor expressed the displeasure shown by the IG, Over the absence of the Nigerian police in the just concluded London 2012 Olympic games.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the Police before now were always featuring in all the sporting events the nation has ever always participated in. in his words, \u201cThe police have always played a vital role in Nigerian sports both in the Athletics, football and others.<\/p>\n<p>We are trying to go back to the drawing board to take a good look at our sports men and women, pick the best and also fish out the talents in the various divisions in the state that will go ahead and do the police and the nation proud once again,\u201d said ACP Felix.<\/p>\n<p>ACP Felix however revealed that in a short period as soon as the Imo command gets the clampdown on crime in the state to a good level, the command will kick \u2013 off the CP\u2019s cup to be competed among all the divisions in the
