Although\nthe 2023 general election is still far away, but moves and plots to stop a\nformer Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, from returning to the\nSenate have commenced in earnest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trumpeta<\/em> learnt that\npolitical opponents of the former Governor, which cut across party line, are\nalready putting his together fishing for a \u201cCredible\u201d Aspirant that can\nchallenge Okorocha for the 2023 Senate election in Orlu zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sources\ntold this Newspaper that even though Okorocha is a member All Progressives\nCongress, APC,yet most of the plotters\nagainst him are in a APC, as there is a concerted gang up to cut Okorocha\u2019s political tentacles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even\nthough it was remoured that Okorocha who had contested for the Nigerian\nPresidency once may give it another\ntrial again in 2023, but many said that there are indications that Okorocha may\ncontinue with the Orlu Senate Seat which may be easier to retain than gamble\nwith the Presidency which may end up a mirage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\nwould be remembered that Okorocha some time ago said that he will not attempt\nthe Presidency, as long as President Mohammadu Buhari is on the seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trumpeta<\/em> was told that\nallowing Okorocha to return to the Senate would have given him a political\nprofile that has eluded most Igbo politicians, and therefore put him in good\nstead for Igbo Presidency in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Apart\nfrom that, Trumpeta<\/em> was told that\nOkorocha has not been cooperating with the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope\nUzodinma, in some of the activities of the APC in the State, as he is accused\nof still seeing himself as the Leader of\nAPC in Imo State, with his APC faction \u201cstill waxing strong inside the main Imo\nAPC\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trumpeta<\/em> learnt that Imo\nState Governor, Senator Uzodinma has been advised by his allies in Orlu Zone that\nOkorocha remains a political force and obstacle in the Area, and will pose a\nproblem to Uzodinma to have a total control of Orlu APC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trumpeta<\/em> learnt that a\nbusiness Mogul from Akaokwa in Ideato North LGA, has been approached to \u201cwarm\nup\u201d for Orlu Senatorial Seat, and do battle with Okorocha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nmultiBillionaria, who had at one time tried to be Governor of Imo State, is\nsaid to be still weighing the option and making consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However,\na close source to the Business Magnate known across Nigeria said that his Boss\nis still going through the suggestion, as he is yet to come out from the shock\nof his first political outing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trumpeta<\/em> was told that\nassurances from those in authority has not yet convinced this philanthropist to\ngird his Ioin and do battle with Okorocha for the Orlu Senatorial Seat in 2023.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n However,\nTrumpeta<\/em> is not yet sure under which\nparty platform the supposed challenger to Okorocha\u2019s Senate ambition will vie\nfor the contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile,\nrumours have continued to circulate that Okorocha may leave his present\npolitical party for another, if his Senate seat is not guaranteed for a second\nterm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even\nas it was rife some weeks ago, that the Ex-Governor was looking towards his\nformer party, PDP, in the event he was denied the chance of return to the\nSenate under APC, his Media office is yet to either deny the rumour or confirm\nit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But\nTrumpeta<\/em> was confided in that\nOkorocha will find it difficult to stage a return to the Senate, as his\npolitical enemies are gathering together\nto abort that ambition of the former Governor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Although the 2023 general election is still far away, but moves and plots to stop<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":27977,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-28775","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-frontpage"],"yoast_head":"\n
