Coming off the menace of gunmen, kidnappers appear to be having a field day in communities of Imo State.
Since the insecurity caused by the menace of unknown gunmen ceased, the new wave of insecurity in Imo State has to do with abduction of innocent citizens of the state at various communities. Recall, at a time gunshots arising from exchange of bullets between unknown gunmen and security agencies reigned in the state.
Trumpeta can report that residents of Nkwerre LGA and neighbouring LGAs of Nwangele, Isu and Njaba of the state are scared stiff following incessant cases of kidnapping in the area. It was learnt that at
Obio filling station in Obinihu Nkwerre, Nze Okigweh Omefo II the owner of (SOMOKO) was kidnapped along with his wife.
Reports say his wife has been released but (SOMOKO) is still in the kidnapper\u2019s custody. Somoko owns the popular building material store at Nweke market Nkwerre.
From the said report, it makes the total number of people that were kidnapped in the area to 7, residents further revealed. A resident in a social media post states, \u201cthe kidnappings may still continue today as security men are nowhere within sight. So if you are in Nkwerre, stay at home and be vigilant. If you are outside Nkwerre and you plan to come to Nkwerre, it is strongly recommended that you cancel your trip, if you must go, utilize convoy of cars.
\u201cNkwerre does not have vigilante group anymore\u201d it added. Meanwhile, one of the suspected kidnappers terrorizing Nkwerre, Nwangele, Isu and Njaba areas was said to have ran out of luck after he was caught.
