{"id":33615,"date":"2021-09-15T18:36:45","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T18:36:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=33615"},"modified":"2021-09-15T18:36:46","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T18:36:46","slug":"enyimba-officially-unveils-finidi-george-as-chief-coach-draw-diambars-fc-of-senegal-in-caf-cup-play-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=33615","title":{"rendered":"Enyimba Officially Unveils Finidi George As Chief Coach ..Draw Diambars FC Of Senegal In CAF Cup Play Off"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nigeria\u2019s representatives at this season\u2019s Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup, Enyimba International of Aba has officially unveiled former Ajax Armsterdam and Real Betis winger, Finidi Geaorge&nbsp; as their new head coach.<br>Finidi replaces Fatai Osho whose contract expired at the end of August, on a two-year contract.<br>The former Sharks FC of PortHaecourt who is a legend of Nigeria\u2019s men\u2019s senior national team, made 62 appearances for the Super Eagles in an illustrious playing career that lasted up to fifteen years.<br>He was a key member of the glorious era that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994 and represented the country at two FIFA World Cups \u2013 the 1994 and 1998 editions.<br>At club level, George won the Uefa Champions League with Ajax in 1995 and went on to play for Real Betis, RCD Mallorca, and Ipswich Town.<br>His first official game as Enyimba head coach will be the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round fixture against Senegalese side Diambers FC in mid-October.<br>Speaking to Enyimba\u2019s media immediately after putting pen to paper, George said, \u201cI have to say it\u2019s a great opportunity for the club to have this confidence in me.<br>\u201cI want to thank the chairman, the members of the board, and the supporters for even thinking about me. On my own part, I will be here to just work and do the job. It\u2019s never going to be easy but I\u2019m here to work and make the team win.\u201d<br>Chairman of Enyimba, Felix Anyansi Agwu, stated that the arrival of George represents a new chapter for the club.<br>\u201cI believe that the time has come for us as a club to open up a new chapter, a chapter that will showcase the many hardwork that has been going on behind the scene and usher in lots of success.<br>\u201cFor us to have engaged a coach like Finidi George who is coming from Europe is a clear statement of intent about our aspirations,\u201d Agwu
