The former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has
\nextolled Governor Okorocha\u2019s free and compulsory education initiatives
\nin the state.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Atiku who was in the state for special function at Okigwe
\nFederal Government College, called on the state governor at Government
\nHouse Owerri, said he shares same dream of making education free and
\ncompulsory, especially for the less privileged in our society.<\/p>\n

He noted that Imo is wearing a new look, commended Governor Okorocha
\nfor his bold steps towards transforming the state, urged him to extend
\nthe gesture to areas like health, agriculture, industries, among
\nothers to enshrine his name in the sands of time.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Atiku said he believes in the future and equal opportunity to
\nthe youths of the nation, for a better tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Atiku urged Imo people to give their support to the present
\nadministration, noting his confidence that Governor Okorocha will take
\nthe state to a greater height.<\/p>\n

He was of the opinion that additional state be given to those who are
\nwilling to follow the constitutional provision, process and producers
\nsince creation of state is a constitutional matter, added that the six
\ngeo-political zones of the federation be restructured.<\/p>\n

In his response, the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha thanked
\nthe former Vice President for his commendation and goodwill, added
\nthat the state will always look forward for his official visit.<\/p>\n

Governor Okorocha used the occasion to highlight on the on-going
\ndevelopmental projects in the state, pointing out that the state
\ngovernment is contributing its quota towards the development of the
