Greater Manchester Police, GMP, has dropped all charges against Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old forward faced allegations of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. The three charges were all brought by the same woman.<\/p>\n

The investigation began over a year ago, in January 2022, with a trial date set for November 27 this year.<\/p>\n

However, GMP said in a statement that the \u201ccriminal proceedings\u201d had been \u201cdiscontinued by the Crown Prosecution Service, CPS.<\/p>\n

Greenwood was suspended by United on January 30 last year, stating he would not return to training or play any matches until further notice.<\/p>\n
