Troops of the Nigerian army have killed a suspected member of the outlawed\u00a0Indigenous People of Biafra<\/a>\u00a0(IPOB) and arrested two others who attempted to attack soldiers in\u00a0Imo State<\/a>, Nigeria\u2019s South-east.<\/p>\n The army spokesperson, Onyema Nwachukwu, who disclosed this in a\u00a0statement\u00a0<\/a>on Tuesday night, said the incident happened at the army\u2019s Forward Operating Base in Ukwuorji along Owerri \u2013 Onitsha Expressway in the state.<\/p>\n \u201cThe irredentist fighters attempted the attack on the troops on 20 August 2023, but met their waterloo, when they came under the superior firepower of the vigilant troops.
