The Senate has confirmed the Kaduna State nominee, Abbas Balarabe, who fainted during his screening on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Senate also confirmed the duo of Dr. Jamila Ibrahaim and Ayodele Olawande who were nominated as Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths, respectively.<\/p>\n
There was pandemonium earlier in the Senate when the nominee who replaced Nasir El-Rufai suddenly collapsed during his screening on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Balarabe, the second nominee to undergo screening after Ibrahim, had just finished sharing his experiences when the incident occurred, approximately 15 minutes into his screening at the Senate plenary.<\/p>\n
While the Kaduna South senator, Sunday Katung, was discussing Balarabe\u2019s administrative background, the nominee suddenly slumped while still on the podium.<\/p>\n
After presenting his profile to the senators, Balarabe received an endorsement from the Kaduna lawmaker, who stated that all three senators from the state gave validation\u00a0to his nomination.<\/p>\n
Katung was interrupted when Senate President Godswill Akpabio shouted, \u201cBring water and sugar. Call Dr. Musa.\u201d<\/p>\n
Akpabio instructed journalists and cameramen to stop filming and leave the Senate chamber.<\/p>\n
The nominee was later taken to the National Assembly clinic.<\/p>\n
The Senate then resumed after about\u00a0a 45-minute break and thereafter confirmed the three nominees.<\/p>\n
The names of the nominees were on Tuesday sent by President Bola Tinubu and read\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0Senate.<\/p>\n
