As the rain gradually gives\u00a0 in to the dry harmattan season, heralding the Christmas festival,\u00a0 Imo people are in\u00a0 high expectation\u00a0 for\u00a0 celebration in grand style having\u00a0 concluded a peaceful governorship election.<\/p>\n
This is so because, despite the palpable fears and\u00a0anxiety that enveloped the whole state as the election drew near, it\u00a0turned out\u00a0to be the\u00a0fairest, freest and most peaceful election\u00a0in the history of\u00a0 Imo State.<\/p>\n
The calmness and ease\u00a0that prevailed throughout the election period, has remained a puzzle till date. It was unusual!<\/p>\n
With strong voice of the ballot and in what could be termed as\u00a0 undiscussed unanimity, Imo people chose Gov Hope Uzodimma to oversee the affairs of the State for another four years.<\/p>\n
In one accord, all the 27 Local Government\u00a0 in the\u00a0 state voted unequivocally for the second missionary journey of His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma.<\/p>\n
But this sparkling success couldn’t have been possible without\u00a0the\u00a0foot soldiers,\u00a0opinion moulders- those who explained and sold the sterling policies of the governor to the\u00a0grassroots.<\/p>\n
These are men of power, of will and of grassroots appeal. Among these men,\u00a0Hon. Willie Okolieogwo, multiple\u00a0 award winner, sole administrator of Oru West Local Government and Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Imo State chapter,\u00a0 must be counted first.<\/p>\n
It is not news that Hon.Okolieogwo has always been a strong and dependable ally of His Excellency.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Long before the election, the sole administrator of Oru West Local Government,\u00a0worked with almost the\u00a0 speed of light to galvanize, mobilize, inform ,\u00a0 educate and crystalize the uncommon achievements of the governor to the grassroots. His efforts\u00a0 and the efforts of his ilks eventually became fruitful. The governor won landslide.<\/p>\n
While reeling out the election’s success factors to a\u00a0 group of people recently in Owerri,\u00a0 Hon. Okolieogwo, said that\u00a0 right from the beginning, the\u00a0 \u00a0governor was focus and\u00a0 knew what he wanted.<\/p>\n
He said that though His Excellency met almost an empty treasury,\u00a0forlorn state without a handover note upon resumption of office, he was not deterred, but hit the ground running immediately.\u00a0 Hon Okolieogwo said governor Uzodimma’s management style, administrative mastery and performance wizardry,\u00a0explain the resounding success at the Nov 11, governorship poll in Imo.<\/p>\n
He said, “His Excellency, worked himself into the hearts of Imo people by embarking on projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people. It is difficult to have an Imo youth who has not been touched one way or the other through\u00a0numerous empowerment programs, particularly in the\u00a0area of Information Technology.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe roads that used to be death\u00a0traps were rebuild with street lights adorning the sides. These happened in all the zones of the state. We were sure that he will win without question’, he concluded emphatically.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Now that the elections are over, the SOLAD called on all the political stakeholders across party lines,\u00a0candidates of various political parties and the entire Imo people by to join hands with His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, to build Imo and make it enviable among the comity of states.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
