Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday said the agitator is a victim of false imprisonment.<\/p>\n
Ejimakor lamented that the Nigerian Government is denying Kanu trial that would accord him the platform to clear his name.<\/p>\n
Speaking after his routine meeting with Kanu at the Department of State Services, DSS, facility in Abuja, Ejimakor lamented the inability of the court to set a date for the continuation of Kanu\u2019s trial.<\/p>\n
In a chat shared with an online newspaper, Ejimakor said: \u201cSequel to the Legal Team\u2019s meeting with #MNK today, it needs to be stated that, without any date set for his trial, he remains a victim of false imprisonment by the Nigerian State.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe new game is that he\u2019s being denied a trial that will accord him the avenue to clear his name.\u201d<\/p>\n
In 2023, the Supreme Court had upturned an Appeal Court\u2019s judgment that discharged and acquitted Kanu of all terrorism charges.<\/p>\n
