Omonua (retired) and a seven-man panel into the impeachment petition against the former Deputy Governor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4913991472gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">According to the panel\u2019s report, the accusation of perjury against Shaibu was not sufficiently substantiated by the complainant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4913991472gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">However, the allegation of disclosing government official documents was found to be substantiated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4913991472gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">During the plenary session, 18 out of the 20 present members voted in support of the panel\u2019s report, while one member dissented.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4913991472gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">The impeachment move is believed to be the latest development in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dockaysworld.com.ng\/oshiomole-speaks-on-plotting-with-obaseki-to-impeach-shaibu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">rift between<\/a>\u00a0Shaibu and his principal, Governor\u00a0<strong>Godwin Obaseki<\/strong><b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4913991472gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">There had been an uneasy calm between the deputy governor and his principal since last year when\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dockaysworld.com.ng\/how-philip-shaibu-staged-a-coup-against-me-due-to-desperation-to-be-governor-obaseki-exposes-deputy-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Shaibu declared<\/a>\u00a0his interest to join this year\u2019s Edo governorship race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv4913991472gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shaibu has been impeached, sources tell Dockaysworld.
