{"id":43147,"date":"2024-04-23T08:16:39","date_gmt":"2024-04-23T08:16:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=43147"},"modified":"2024-04-23T08:16:39","modified_gmt":"2024-04-23T08:16:39","slug":"gunmen-kill-law-professor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=43147","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen Kill Law Professor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\"><b>.Kidnap Two Others<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">Professor of law at Babcock University in Ogun State, Yinka Olomojobi, has been killed while two others have been kidnapped in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Iperu,_Ogun_State\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Iperu<\/a>\u00a0area of the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">According to reports, Olomojobi was shot dead last Friday for refusing to be taken away by unidentified gunmen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">Eyewitnesses said about eight gunmen opened fire when they entered into Ajadeh Event Centre on Sagamu Road, Iperu, Ogun State.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">The Babcock University professor was shot in the chest, they said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">One of those taken captive is said to be the manager of a car stand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">Spokesperson of Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said one person had been arrested in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">She said, \u201cA two-week-old security man was arrested based on reasonable suspicion as police commence discreet investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">\u201cA report from the Iperu Division indicates that a kidnapping and murder incident occurred on the 19th of April, 2024, at about 9:20 pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">\u201cA suspicious coincidence led the police to arrest one Awada Ishaya of Plateau state who was employed two weeks ago when the event centre was launched as a security man for further interrogation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">\u201cThe lecturer was taken to Babcock University Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv1031543006gmail-MsoNoSpacing\">\u201cEfforts are underway to apprehend the culprits and rescue the kidnapped victims.
