The former deputy governor of\u00a0 Imo State,\u00a0 Prince\u00a0 Eze Madumere has called on\u00a0 the promoters of the hunger protest and Nigerian youths to embrace peace and tranquillity\u00a0 as their voice resonated unequivocally across the country.<\/p>\n
Prince Madumere encouraged them to accept the olive branch extended by President\u00a0 Bola Tinubu in his broadcast , which called for mutual dialogue, aimed at finding lasting solutions to their various demands.<\/p>\n
The former deputy governor made this known while addressing newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Prince Madumere highlighted that it is better to jaw jaw than to war war, and advised the federal government to\u00a0 open up seamless channels of communication\u00a0 with the promoters of the hunger protest.<\/p>\n
According to him,\u00a0 “in every democratic dispensation,\u00a0 the citizens enjoys the right to protest in a civil manner and once your voice resonates and the authorities listened to your grievances, the next line of action is to call off your protest and enter into mutually beneficial deliberations, laced up with Unity\u00a0 of purpose for\u00a0 sustainable development of\u00a0 society.”<\/p>\n
\u00a0His words , “I urge\u00a0 \u00a0the youths\u00a0 and promoters\u00a0 of the hunger protest to embrace\u00a0 peace,\u00a0 dialogue with the federal government\u00a0 and\u00a0 president\u00a0 Tinubu as a listening father,\u00a0 will see reasons to accede to your demands.<\/p>\n
\u00a0I call on the President to take steps and reach out to the youths, organisers of the protest and the populace, as the father of the nation”.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Prince Madumere commended the governor of Imo State,\u00a0 Hope Uzodimma\u00a0 and the South East governors for rallying round the youths and stakeholders in putting a halt to the protest in the zone. Stressing that for any meaningful development, absolute decorum is required.<\/p>\n
Prince Madumere commended the South East youths for listening\u00a0 to voice of reasoning and\u00a0 maintaining\u00a0 absolute calmness.<\/p>\n
He challenged stakeholders,\u00a0 party faithful in the country that “We must all\u00a0 brace up to the challenges of rebuilding and refocusing the country for the interest of\u00a0 society.”<\/p>\n

The Ex Imo deputy governor, commiserated with the families of those that lost their\u00a0 loved ones and asked God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Speaking in respect of the comment in certain quarters urging the Igbo to leave Lagos\u00a0 state,\u00a0 Prince Madumere stressed that every Nigerian has the constitutional right to reside anywhere of his choice in the country.<\/p>\n
He submitted that\u00a0 no citizen can unilaterally ask the Igbo to relocate and\u00a0 commended\u00a0 President Tinubu, Lagos State governor,\u00a0 Babajide Sanwolu , governor Uzodimma and\u00a0 Ohanaeze Ndigbo\u00a0 for their swift intervention.<\/p>\n
“Nigeria is one united entity and Igbos\u00a0 are peace loving\u00a0 people. You have the constitutional right to reside anywhere of your choice and do legitimate business. No one has the right to pursue you from residing anywhere in the country.”<\/p>\n
Prince Madumere enjoined Elder Statesmen , Critical Stakeholders and Captains of Industries to bring their wealth of experience and support\u00a0 president Tinubu on how to navigate through this scenario.<\/p>\n
” This is the time for superior advice on how to navigate through this scenario as this will go a long way to assist the\u00a0 federal government manage the situation.<\/p>\n
\u00a0“All stakeholders must come together, advice the FG as their wealth of knowledge will go a long way in scaling through this situation, the time to speak up is now”.<\/p>\n
