It was a happy day for the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly,
\nRt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu on Sunday 17th February, 2013 at Obowo
\nCouncil Area Headquarters Otoko where many illustrious sons and\"\"<\/a>
\ndaughters of Okigwe zone in an umbrella body of a socio-cultural Union
\nknown as Odimma Okigwe gathered and condemned the recent impeachment
\nthreat to the Speaker by the opposition party in the state.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the occasion which lasted about 3 hours was graced by the prominent
\nmembers of Odimma Okigwe included Dr. E.J.K. Onyewuchi (President
\nGeneral), Senator C. Agunanne (Deputy President General), Prof. Ezeadi
\nO. Ezeadi (Secretary General), Mrs. Lolo Anamekwe (Women Leader) Hon.
\nMrs. Anyanwu, Chief Tony Black, Engr. Onwuka, Engr. Ifeanyi Ukachu,
\nHon. Ngozi Ogbue, Chief Kaodichi Anamekwe (Chief of Staff to the
\nSpeaker of Imo State House of Assembly), HRH Eze R. U. Okonkwo amongst
\nothers. The union passed a vote of implicit confidence on the Speaker
\non the heel of a motion moved by Prof. Ezeadi.
\nIn a remark, the president general of the union, Dr. E. J. K.
\nOnyewuchi pointed out the laudable achievement of Speaker Uwajumogu
\nespecially in his key position to enact a law for establishment of
\nTurkish University among other giant projects in Okigwe Zone adding
\nthat the political cabal trying to unseat the speaker remain the enemy
\nof the Okigwe Zones political struggle.
\nBriefing Newsmen shortly after the event, Rt. Hon. Benjamin
\nUwajumogu described the gesture as the third tremendous things that
\nhave recorded in the history of his life through which he noted that
\nthe first one was the day he was elected the Speaker of the House and
\nthe second was the day his people (Okigwe Zone) crowned him with a
\ntitle \u201cOgbuhuruzo\u201d.
\nSpeaker Uwajumogu noted that the opposition were envious of the
\nongoing good governance in the state and wants to
\ndestabilize it. He expressed disappointment over the previous
\nadministrations in Imo State adding that Okigwe Zone has duly taken
\nits own political slot in the state but would blame Ohakim\u2019s
\nadministration which spent N480 billion in 4 years without even
\npointing at one giant project cited at Okigwe during the
\nadministration.
\nRt. Hon. Uwajumogu further debunked the allegation that he was
\nrecently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission
\n(EFCC) adding that such allegation was a cheap blackmail purported by
\nthe detractors to poison the minds of Imolites. He stated that the
\nanti graft agency only visited his office to probe \u201cillegal laws\u201d but
\ncould not succeed as no one except Court of Law reserves the right to
\ninterpret legal or illegal law adding that no action taken by the
\nspeaker can be queried by anybody but shall be reviewed by the House
\nof Assembly which is the Self-correcting enterprise\u00a0 and not<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
