{"id":45838,"date":"2025-07-04T11:18:34","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T11:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=45838"},"modified":"2025-07-04T11:18:34","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T11:18:34","slug":"why-njc-sacked-nine-imo-judges-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imotrumpeta.com\/?p=45838","title":{"rendered":"Why NJC Sacked Nine Imo Judges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"yiv7829359380MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"yiv7829359380MsoNormal\"><b>..How Rivalry, Backbiting Ravaged Imo Judiciary<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On June 25th, 2025, a thunderstorm hit the Imo State judiciary with the National Judicial Council, NJC approving the compulsory retirement of about eleven judges.<br \/>\nThe council at the resolution during its 109th meeting presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Kudirat Kekere Ekun approved the retirement which includes ten\u00a0 judges from Imo State.<br \/>\nNJC Deputy Director of Information, Kemi Ogedengbe in a statement stated that<br \/>\n\u201cNine of the affected judges of the Imo State Judiciary were found to have altered their dates of birth in their official records in order to confer on themselves the undue advantage of staying longer in service,\u201d<br \/>\nThe statement noted that &#8220;the nine judges found to have falsified their records, comprising five High Court judges and four judges of the Customary Court of Appeal in Imo State.<br \/>\n&#8220;They include: Justice M. E. Nwagboso (High Court), Justice B. C. Iheka (High Court), Justice K. A.
