Sycamore Church USA Expands Missionary Outreach with New Congregation in Imo State<\/p>\n

In its continued effort to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ, Sycamore Church, based in Savannah, Georgia, USA, has established another congregation in Orji, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Activities leading to the inauguration of the congregation began with a power-packed crusade and culminated in the official church dedication service held on Sunday, May 10, 2026.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The missionary church, through its evangelical outreach wing, stated that the establishment of the congregation forms part of its broader vision to extend Christian ministry to underserved rural communities across Nigeria.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that the church, in collaboration with Horizon International Medical Mission, established its first congregation in Naze, Owerri North, about five years ago, making the newly dedicated Orji congregation the second branch in the area. Prior to these efforts, the mission had also supported the planting of a Community Baptist Church in Owerri several years ago.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the dedication service, the former Assistant Secretary-General of the Ministerial Baptist Convention and Father of the Day, Rev. Dr. Clement Amadi, charged members of the congregation to remain committed to the core mission and vision of the church.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Rev. Dr. Amadi further admonished the pastors of Sycamore Church Naze, Rev. Bethel Ihueze and Pastor Chimezie Ibe, to work together in unity for the growth and propagation of the ministry.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Also speaking, Rev. Dr. Japhet Amadi challenged church members and ministers to present the body of Christ as a true reflection of Christ through their conduct and service.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Drawing from the biblical account of Jesus Christ driving traders out of the temple, Rev. Dr. Clement Amadi urged worshippers to preserve the sanctity of the house of God and avoid turning the church into a place of commercial activities.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Senior Partner and liaison between Sycamore Church Savannah and Sycamore Church Nigeria, TPM Dr. Kennedy Okere, stated that the church was established with two major objectives: to make disciples through a proper and solid discipleship programme, and to raise God-fearing leaders for the nation of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

A major highlight of the crusade was the winning of 15 souls to Christ, including two repentant sex workers.<\/p>\n
