Battle Royale in Imo APC As Uzodimma, Okorocha, Izunaso, Araraume’s Factions\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Ahead party primaries of the All Progressive Congress, APC, this month, drums of war are gradually beating in the party in Imo State.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The cause of the looming trouble cannot be divorced from the clashes of interest raging in the ruling party.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As at the close of sale of forms early this week, Trumpeta has it on record that governor Hope Uzodimma, former governor, Rochas Okorocha and Senator representing Orlu Zone, Osita Izunaso picked forms for the Senatorial tickets of the party while the incumbent for Okigwe Zone, Patrick Ndubueze has to contend the ticket with veteran in the field of politics and a two-time senator who represented Okigwe Zone, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.<\/p>\n

Observations by the newspaper have that a repeat of the 2019 debacle in APC will likely return considering the characters in the race for Orlu Zone senate ticket.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The coming of Rochas who was in the Senate (2019-2023) back to the beat for the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly has raised tempo with many watchers of politics of the state anticipating a return of the rivalry of the past.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While Uzodimma who is the incumbent wanting to move to senate without completing his tenure as governor if he wins would use all muscles within his arsenal to fight against opposing forces from Rochas and Izunaso, the former governor will fight back through his former structure; Rescue Mission.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During his state in office as governor, Uzodimma had a formidable political structure that saw him win as governor and back-to-back before ascending to the Senate.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A clash of the pro Hope members in APC, others called Camp Hope and Okorocha’s Rescue Missionaries is imminent which may lead to implosion in the ruling party after the primaries.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the other hand, the interest of the Izunaso may add further drama to the emerging scenes where clashes are inevitable. Izunaso, believed to be Uzodimma’s ally before now may add more fireworks to the battle for Orlu Zone.<\/p>\n

In Okigwe zone, the return of Araraume is another interesting episode in the prelude to the Okigwe Zone senate. Noted for running one of the strong political groups in the state, Araraume will come to challenge Ndubueze believed to be Uzodimma’s ally in the zone.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
