A deluge of visitors across Nigeria are expected to hit Owerri, the Capital of Imo State next week as Economic Experts converge to brain-storm on National and Global Economy.<\/p>\n
This was disclosed to Newsmen by the Imo State Commissioner for Finace, Mr Chuk Chukwuemeka while speaking in his Office at Government House, Owerri.<\/p>\n
Mr Chukwuemeka who was flanked by his Colleague in the Ministry of Tourism,Rt Hon Enerst Ibejiako,Special Adviser to the Governor on Events Management, Sir Bright, including the Accountant General of the State and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, said the venue of the event is Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu Event Centre Owerri.<\/p>\n
The Finance Commissioner disclosed that the theme of the Work Shop is: Strengthening Fiscal Federalism for Sustainable Revenue Generation, Equitable Allocation And Economic Resilience in a Volatile Global Economy.<\/p>\n
He said the events will kick off on Monday August 17,with Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma declaring the Event open.<\/p>\n
Chuck Chukwuemeka said that the ceremony is a National Event, chosen to by Federal Government to be hosted in Imo State.<\/p>\n
He said that Minister of Finance, Bank Executives and Economic Experts are expected to grace the occasion.<\/p>\n
He stressed that nothing less than Three hundred participants are expected into Imo State, adding that this human presence will boost Imo Economy within the period the event will last.<\/p>\n
“The immediate economic advantage of the Event to Imo State is this large population arriving the State capital, as they will eat and sleep in our hotels,move around for sigt seeing which is a plus to our touruism sector” Chuk Chukwuemeka said.<\/p>\n
The Commissioner maintained the essence of the workshop is to gather together Financial Gurus, both from within and outside Nigeria to deliberate on Economic policies and prepare for the future.<\/p>\n
He told Newsmen that in a dynamic global Economy, it is always useful to plan ahead in case of uncertainties in revenue generation, so as to sustain equitable allocations of resources to various sectors of Government and the society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
