Even as major political parties in Imo State are yet to know who carries their flags for the next governorship election expected to hold next year, a ray of hope has emerged that the opposition can spring surprises against the ruling party in the state.<\/p>\n

This feeling is premised on the victory of the Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke in the just concluded governorship election of Osun State.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the election conducted last Saturday, Adeleke braced odds to defeat other candidates especially that of the APC.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The multiple effects of the Accord Party victory in Osun State, from Trumpeta review of current political developments in the state is giving hope to other opposition parties of hope to win the governorship contest next year.<\/p>\n

Following the pressure from the ruling APC to deny Adeleke a second term, the re-elected Osun State governor faced hurdles from the APC before winning.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Moments after the result was declared on Sunday, Trumpeta noticed that the Imo State political space changed with opposition party leaders and members praising the exercise that produced Adeleke.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Despite Accord not having a good stronghold in Imo State, other parties except APC are hopeful that with proper conduct of election by INEC in Imo and without unorthodox electoral practices of the ruling APC, other parties can win elective positions .<\/p>\n
