Following allegation of a secret account in a Bank in Aba, Abia State purportedly operated by the former Imo State Governor, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, which Owelle Rochas Okorocha said he discovered containing the sum of N557m, the immediate past Governor has urged his successor to face the task of providing dividends of Democracy to the people of Imo State and should stop diverting the peoples attention.<\/p>\n

In a release by Ohakim\u2019s Media Adviser, Dr Ethelbert Okere, the former Governor said that it was unfortunate that after two years in office, Okorocha can never deliver any speech in any part of the world without mentioning the name of his predecessor, Dr Ikedi Ohakim.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ohakim maintained that rather than regal Imo people with his achievements these past two years, Okorocha was busy distracting the masses by preaching about an administration that has left office two years ago, adding that he is proud of the legacy he left behind.<\/p>\n

The Media Aide said that up till now, Okorocha was yet to explain to Imo people what he used the N26.27B Ohakim left behind to do, but is distracting Imo people with fictitious stories, and queried why it took Okorocha two years to inform Imo people of a secret account he discovered in 2011, and asked how much was there, which bank and what did Okorocha spend the money on.<\/p>\n

He said that while other Governors were addressing their people on what they did in celebration of Democracy Day, Okorocha was celebrating Ohakim\u2019s regime by making him the topic of his Broadcast.<\/p>\n

Okere said that what Okorocha ought to do is to face his job as Governor, and stop brandishing Ohakim\u2019s name at each fora, as if the main thing Okorocha assumed office to do is to preach Ohakim\u2019s actions in Government, instead of producing his own score card to Imo people, and let history to be the judge.<\/p>\n

\u201cCheck all the speeches of other Governors during the Democracy Day and see if any of them mentioned their predecessors after spending two years in office?\u201d<\/p>\n

He reiterated that the Ohakim administration left the sum of 26.27B for Okorocha in 2011, and till date, Okorocha has not accounted for the fund.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe administration of Ohakim left a total sum of N26.27B in various bank accounts of the state namely;<\/p>\n

b).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 SUBEB project accounts with Bank PHB N3B<\/p>\n

c).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vat account in Zenith Bank \u2013 N488M<\/p>\n

d).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Internally generated account with Zenith Bank N450M<\/p>\n

e).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Local Government joint project account with Bank PHB N2.5B<\/p>\n

f).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Agric Loan Account with Access Bank N500M<\/p>\n

g).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fertilizer sales account with Oceanic Bank N250M<\/p>\n

h).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 JAAC Account with Bank PHB N3.6B<\/p>\n

i).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 MDG Projects accounts with Fidelity Bank N500M<\/p>\n

j).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Education Trust Fund (ETF) with Zenith Bank N1B<\/p>\n

k).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Imo Children Education funds N670M making it a total of N26.27B\u201d Okere said.<\/p>\n

He explained that rather engaging in \u201cMarket Square\u201d kind of argument, Okorocha should approach the appropriate quarters if he finds Ohakim wanting.<\/p>\n
