the Osina Community Hospital (OCH) last weekend commissioned a new Hospital Ambulance Emergency Services bought by Osina Youth Convention (OYC) now known as Osina Youth Club. The commissioning which took place at the hospital premises in Osina, Ideato North LGA, of Imo state was chaired by very Rev Fr Dr Don Nnagha, the first indigenous priest of the land and also the new Chairman of the Hospital Management Board.
\nIn his address, Rev. Fr. Dr Don Nnagha highlighted that the 100 bed capacity hospital was built by Osina youth convention in 1989, managed and commissioned by a team of German Medical Doctors and Technicians for a period of 10 years before it was returned to Nigerian doctors to manage.
\nHe stated that the aim of designing the hospital was to make it a referral hospital around the area. Fr Don Nnagha also pointed out that the commissioning of the ambulance response services is among few health services that can uplift the standard of the hospital as well save lives of patients in danger of death.
\nHe added that they intend to undertake rural medical outreach and door to door medical services to homebound and aged patients who may not find it easy to come to the hospital unaided.
\nSpeaking further, Fr. Don pleaded with OYC members to come to their aid in providing the hospital with uninterrupted electricity and borehole facilities. He appealed for counterpart funding through relevant government and inter-governmental agencies like NDDC and IWADA in restoring the basic amnesties for the teeming population in the area
\nHe added that the hospital for three months now has attracted HIV and Antiviral treatment scheme, Centre for Immunization, three resident doctors, and nurses, and in his remarks, Chief Jude Nwaghuo, the Chairman of the event stated that if not by the grace of God who saved his life through the Osina community hospital, he would have presently been a dead man by now, urging his colleagues to support the hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
