A \u201cjoint\u201d where various hard drugs are purchased and consumed has been uncovered in Owerri, Imo state capital.
\nTrumpeta investigations revealed that the Joint located along Odagu Street in Owerri, has become a \u201csafe haven for hard drug consumers in the state.
\nOur reporter, who posed as a drug consumption addict, sneaked into the joint and observed that virtually, the low and mighty converge at the joint to either purchase or sniff the hard drugs which range from cocaine, \u201cThailand\u201d, cannabis, etc.
\nA small portion of the coke goes for N5,000, while other hard drugs depending on the frequency of the customer goes for between N5,000 to N3,000.
\nThere are also hawkers of the illicit trade, as it was observed that some young men, either the unemployed shop for customers of the drugs within the vicinity of the place.
\nConsumers of such drugs range from undergraduates, graduates, including secondary school pupils who patronize the illicit business. Secondary school students, mostly from a popular Girls Secondary School located in Ikenegbu axis are lured to the spot by their male friends to have a \u201cfeel\u201d of such hard drugs.
\nAt the \u201cjoint\u201d, students of various higher institutions are sighted where they willingly and freely engage in the drug trade.
\nIt was observed that a popular \u201cmama put\u201d joint operates beside the hard drugs joint which serves as a decoy.
