CONVERGENCY: Excreta Waste consists of feaces and urine. In modern sewage system it is disposed of along with other liquid waste from factories, houses, shops etc. The conservancy system however deals only with excreta. It is probably simplest to think of this method as a dry one as opposed to that of water carriage which is obviously wet.
On the whole the conservancy system is dangerous and is almost obsolete (no longer in use). There is always the danger of water and food contamination. The oldest and most primitive type of lavatory was a simple hole on the ground. It was quite insanitary. The next advance was to a similar construction improved by a-galvanized container and a quantity of soil so that the excreta could be properly covered. If this method is well controlled decomposition by bacteria is fairly rapid, but the risk of water contamination exists. The bucket required to be emptied at regular intervals and the contents are best kept dry. The bucket type of closest is similar-again ashes or soil should be used to cover the excreta.
This type of dry closet might still be in use in some remote country, but certain by laws exist in connection with them. The closet building itself must be in a reasonable state of repair and cleanliness, properly ventilated and the floor must be concrete and slopping away from the structure. A lid must be used to cover the container, earth must be kept available and the whole structure must be kept 40ft away from any source of water used for drinking or domestic purposes. It must be also be at least six feet away from the house. Ashes may be used in place of soil.
CHEMICAL CLOSETS: These were the result of the next advance and have become more important recently because of their usefulness in aircraft, ships and motor coaches. Little space is required. The receptacle is some form of small bucket held inside a portable metal container. A special chemical is used which deodorizes, liquefies and sterilizes the excreta. The resulting fluid may be disposed of through a simple soakage pit. The chemical repels flies. Chemical closets may be portable or permanent. The portable type is used for aircraft and coaches, while a permanent one is useful in a country, house or permanent sports ground where it is not possible to have a water carriage system of disposal. A permanent chemical closet requires a tank sunk deep into the ground so that contents of the bucket will fall into it. A soak ways outlet is provided for the contents of the tank when they have become sufficiently liquified.
Healing Word
Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses by whose stripe we are healed. 1 Peter 2:24.
Goo has a great plan of redemption which He sent His son the Lord Jesus Christ to consummate. This plan is that by the death of Christ on the cross he was bruised that believers in Christ might be healed. Jesus bore our sicknesses which we no longer need to bear. I am free, I no longer have a sickness or disease. He bore them for me. I am now healed by His stripes. I am well now. I believe that in my heart and because I believe I say it with my mouth, by his stripes I am healed.
