The newly designed operation puff-adder by the Mohamed Katsina led Imo Police Command to ensure a crime and violent free ember month/new year, has continued to record landmark achievements since its inception, which include arrest of kidnap and robbery suspects, rescue of kidnapped and robbery victims, recovery of ransom and stolen items.
According to the release made available to news men in Imo during the week by the Imo Command, an 85 year old man, Sir Abel Anozie Anyiam of Elu Owerre Ubaha Amaigbo in Nwangele LGA who was kidnapped recently was rescued by the men of the Operation puff-adder and two suspects; Ikechukwu Nwokeji (m), and Caroline Eze (f) all of Akuma Oru East were arrested.
In another development, the command also disclosed the arrest of the deadliest gang who relocated to other parts of the country after the police operation made the state uncomfortable for them, but later sneaked into the state to continue their notorious activities. The members of the gang include Odinaka Monye (m) (aka Ten Kobo) of Nsokpo Ogbaku Mbaitoli LGA, Chukwado Igbo (m) of Ohuba in Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Emmanuel Nwankwo (m) (aka Egwusi), others are Emeka Robinson (aka Sharp) (m) of Avu in Owerri West LGA and Uchenna Enwerem (m) (aka Don) of Aboh Mbaise. This gang specialized on kidnapping and terrorizing relatives and local environments.
During the onslaughts, persons and items were rescued and recovered, some of the items recovered include; one assault riffle No 07009273, five locally made pistols, fire pump action gun, ten motorcycles, ten Ak 47 riffle, thirty phones of different make, three cars, substantial quantity of weed suspected to be India hemp, Cocaine water loop cover.
However, the State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Katsina averred that those arrested will soon be charged to court. He maintained that his men will not go back in their resolved quest to make Imo the most crime Free State in the country, while calling on citizens to partner with the police by bringing reliable information. The CP went further to encourage criminals to voluntarily surrender their weapon and turn a new leave as he assured them of police protection.
