Imo Federal lawmakers Speak Owerri zone must fight for Imo Guber

The member representing Owerri Federal Constituency, Hon Ezenwa Onyewuchi, has said he is in support of the quest of the people of the zone to produce the governor of the State.

Speaking at an interactive session with members of Owerri Pen Professionals who paid him a courtesy call at his Orji country home, he said Owerri Zone has the right to stake a claim to the Imo Governorship seat, but should not relax and expect to cruise to power on a platter of gold.

He encouraged every son and daughter of Owerri Zone who is interested in the guber race to step forward and market his or herself to the people. The House of Rep member maintained that gone are the days one intends to win an election by siting in the comfort of his home and expect to be made Governor

Onyewuchi however maintained that such a person should be credible and committed to the task of good governance if he or she must get the votes of the people.

He enumerated that the present members of the House of Representatives are committed to the task of ensuring that Nigerians benefit immensely from democracy. He said this is the chief factor propelling the House to live up to its constitutional role as a check on the Executive Arm of Government.
