The case instituted by the Imo State Government against the Inspector General of Police over the Imo council’s saga has been adjourned to August 16.
The matter which came up at Federal High Court Portharcourt,RiversStatecould not go on as the Judge was not in court. The matter was therefore put for August 16, 2012 for hearing.
It would be recalled that Governor Okorocha sued the Inspector – General of Police over the Imo Councils, alleging that police helped the council chairmen to forcefully gain entrance into their offices.
Meanwhile, the exparte motion filled by the Imo council chairmen restricting Governor Okorocha from declaring their offices vacant on August 8, 2012 comes up today at the Owerri High Court, presided over by Justice Ngozi Opara.
The Council Chairmen had obtained an injunction restraining Gov Rochas Okorocha or his agents from declaring their offices vacant.
