The highlight of the job of the 5-man committee headed by High Chief Terngu Tsega as chairman was fresh taxation imported into the exercise on Thursday.
Hopeful aspirants who spent not less than N1.1m to obtain form and expression of interest were perplexed when new directive enjoined them to spend more money. According to the state arm of the PDP, all aspirants willing to go for the screening a prelude for the primaries must pay N30000 to their respective zonal offices before parting with another N200.000 at the state level.
The payment did not come down well with the aspirants who expressed displeasure and almost boycotted the exercise because of the fresh charges.
When contacted, the new acting publicity secretary of the party Hon Kizito Onuoha confirmed the payment of N30,000 but was not forthcoming on the N200,000 even as no reason was explained for the fresh monies.
